New Deputy Chairman Elected - 23 June 2004 Print

The Auckland Energy Consumer Trust has elected Shale Chambers as its new deputy chairman effective immediately.

The position was previously held by trustee John Collinge. Trust chairman Warren Kyd was re-elected at a meeting earlier today.

Mr Chambers, a lawyer, has been an AECT Trustee since 2003. He is managing partner of Chambers Craig and a director of MetService of NZ and Metra Information. He also the manager of Washworld Carwashes and is a member of the Institute of Directors.

Mr Chambers said he was honoured to accept the position of deputy chairman and looked forward to continuing to work together with all Trustees in the best interest of the Trust's beneficiaries.

The Auckland Energy Consumer Trust was created in 1993. It has 100 percent shareholding in Vector Limited, one of New Zealand's largest network infrastructure companies. It is the largest consumer trust in New Zealand with more than 280,000 consumer beneficiaries.
