The Auckland Energy Consumer Trust (AECT) has appointed Mark Bogle to the role of Executive Officer.

Mr Bogle is an experienced business consultant and was founding CEO of publicly listed Evergreen Forests and a director of the New Zealand Forest Industries Council from 1997 to 2004. For the past two years Mr Bogle has been advising a small number of private companies principally in the biotech sector. His qualifications include a Master of Public Policy and he is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

“We welcome Mr Bogle’s business skills and investment management experience”, said Chairman of the AECT, Warren Kyd, adding that Mr Bogle is joining the AECT at a significant time.

“The Trust has a $2 billion investment in Vector which, having completed its IPO and acquisition of NGC, is poised for an exciting future. Mr Bogle has the relevant experience and qualifications we need to manage such an investment,” said Mr Kyd.

Mr Bogle commenced his work with the AECT in February.

Mr Kyd said he was also pleased to announce that Joy Stevens had been appointed Assistant Secretary of the Trust. Ms Stevens also becomes Secretary of Energy Trusts of New Zealand. Ms Stevens has worked for the AECT since 1999.
